SINCE 2013

Always Basketball began in 2013 with a simple goal: to create a basketball environment where young players could learn the game, develop their skills and, most importantly, enjoy being part of a team.

What started with one local program quickly grew into partnerships with schools, camps, clinics, individual training and competitive teams. Over the years, thousands of young athletes have come through Always Basketball — some discovering basketball for the first time, others continuing their journey into high school and college basketball.

Through all that growth, the philosophy has remained the same. We want to develop better basketball players, but we also want to teach young athletes how to work hard, compete, support their teammates and become part of something bigger than themselves.

VITOR IMBUZEIRO

FOUNDER • OWNER • HEAD COACH

Coach Vitor “Coach V” Imbuzeiro has spent more than 30 years working with basketball players at different levels and in different countries. Originally from Brazil, his coaching journey has taken him through Brazil, Japan, Italy and the United States before building Always Basketball in Michigan.

In 2013, Coach V founded Always Basketball with a simple goal: to create an environment where young athletes could learn the game, compete, build confidence and enjoy being part of a team.

More than a decade later, that philosophy remains at the heart of the program. Coach V continues to work directly with Always Basketball players and coaches, helping ensure that HARD • SMART • TOGETHER • ALWAYS is more than a motto — it is how the program approaches basketball and develops young athletes.

FROM A SIMPLE IDEA TO ALWAYS BASKETBALL

What started in 2013 as a way to bring basketball into Northville’s elementary schools has grown into a basketball community that has reached more than 5,000 young athletes.

2013

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

Always Basketball began with a simple idea: bring basketball into Northville elementary schools while helping local PTAs raise money. What started at one school was quickly embraced by families and expanded throughout Northville.

2014-2016

CAMPS & CLINICS TAKE OFF

After a year of clinics and mini camps throughout Northville, Always Basketball launched its first summer camp. The response from local families was tremendous, and the camps quickly became an important part of the program — bringing together young players from across the community.

2017

GIRLS TEAMS ARE BORN

After three years of clinics and camps, Always Basketball took its next big step. With no dedicated girls basketball program in Northville at that time, we formed teams for girls in 5th through 8th grade — giving young players an opportunity to compete, develop their skills and play more basketball beyond the traditional parks and recreation level.

2019

THE BOYS PROGRAM BEGINS

As Always Basketball continued to grow, the program expanded again in 2019 with the addition of boys teams. The same philosophy that shaped the girls program — development, teamwork, basketball IQ and a love for the game — now gave boys from Northville and surrounding communities another place to learn, compete and grow.

MORE THAN 5,000 YOUNG ATHLETES

From those first elementary school clinics to today’s teams, camps, skills training and international experiences, Always Basketball has reached more than 5,000 young athletes. The program has grown far beyond where it started, but the purpose remains the same: teach the game, care about the players and create experiences they will remember long after the final buzzer.

THE PROGRAM HAS GROWN. THE PURPOSE HASN’T CHANGED.

Always Basketball has grown because of the players, families and coaches who have been part of the journey. Through every team, camp, practice and experience, our focus remains the same: teach the game, care about the players, bring people together and help young athletes create memories and friendships that extend far beyond basketball.
